Me and my sister were talking recently, and we got to the topic of how the mermaids from the new peter pan were cooler than the old ones like in the little mermaid. Then we got to the topic of 'why do mermaids have hair?' and the answer is..they wouldnt. So i started to draw a bald mermaid, and this is how it turned out. I dunno why i made the fins so colourful though.

Drawn with the mech pencil that i finaly found yay.
inked with the pen i found on the table
coloured in paint shop pro 8
everything is (c) to me this time. She is my character. Yay!

ooh very pretty! I love the bubbles and lighting esp ^^ I think mermaids are portrayed that way so much is because they're supposed to be half human half fish and so people are like "humans have hair, mermaids must too" *shrug* I dunno...I like yours tho ^^

yeah, I had a friend talk about the same thing (about how mermaids probably wouldn't have hair...) I guess we just draw it for looks? O_o;

i suppose so. But in a way, she's pretty. Like, not human pretty. But her coloures are pretty. and so are her eyes, in my opinion. thanks for the comment. :hug: :hug: :glomp:

Unbeliavably cool those bubbles!
And that body looks just that slim and watery, it really looks like water being. And there is something fishy about it :lol:
